Kraus Aims To Take Advantage Of LVMS Experience

• NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Heads To Vegas

ROSEVILLE, Calif. (Sept. 22, 2021) – The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series heads to Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Friday, as the circuit makes its second visit this season to the 1.5-mile oval.

Derek Kraus, driver of the McAnally-Hilgemann Racing No. 19 NAPA AutoCare/South Point Toyota Tundra, is set to make his fifth series start at LVMS – his most of any track on the circuit.

The 20-year-old Stratford, Wisconsin driver aims to take advantage of his experience there to get a top finish and build some momentum as the series heads into the final four races on this year’s schedule. Kraus is 13th in the championship standings – with two poles, one top-five and four top-10 finishes in 18 starts.

Friday’s Camping World Truck Series race is part of a big weekend of NASCAR racing at the LVMS facility. Action gets underway with an ARCA Menards Series West event on the 3/8-mile oval at The Bullring on Thursday night. Following the truck race on Friday, the NASCAR Xfinity Series competes at LVMS on Saturday, with the NASCAR Cup Series capping off the weekend on Sunday.

Prior to MHR competing on Friday, Bill McAnally Racing will be racing in the ARCA West event on Thursday.

In advance of the on-track action, team drivers will visit NAPA AutoCare shops in the Las Vegas market on Thursday.

Special guests from NAPA Los Angeles and the Las Vegas district stores will be welcomed to the track. Sponsor activation for both events will include a NAPA VIP Guest Crew Member.

Derek Kraus – About this week
What are your thoughts as you prepare to return to Las Vegas?
“We’ve had a fast MHR Tundra each time we raced at Las Vegas, but did not get the finish to show for it. We plan to change that this time and be up front for the checkered flag.”
