Eric Johnson Jr. scored a ninth-place finish in his second run at Kevin Harvick’s Kern Country Raceway Park (KCRP) this season. The driver of the No. 19 Pacific Office Automation Chevrolet SS continues to roll on a hot streak in the ARCA Menards Series West (AMSW) as his result gave him his third consecutive top-10 result.

Johnson Jr. began his day in Bakersfield, Calif. in the 16th position after posting a time of 18.81 seconds in qualifying. He moved into the 13th position before he went a lap down on lap 51. With a caution right before the scheduled midway point Johnson Jr. was able to get the lucky dog pass right and regain a lead lap position.

Johnson Jr. brought his No. 19 Chevrolet to pit road during the halfway point to receive some changes and get back to action in the 11th position. For the remaining 73 laps, Johnson Jr. was able to find his way inside the top-10 and battling for positions. The AMSW Rookie of The Year finished his day in the ninth position, giving him three consecutive top-10 results within the series.

Eric Johnson Jr. Quote:

“I spent the first half searching for grip. but as the track cooled, we sightly overcompensated at the break and had to fight to save the right front. While we hoped for a better finish, we still secured another top-10 in Bakersfield and kept our car clean. I am thankful for my team, and we are excited to see what we can do in our return to Phoenix in a couple weeks.”
