Mosack Gains Three Positions in Standings at N. Wilkesboro

NCTS Point Standings Position: 17th
Connor Mosack made significant ground by gaining three positions in the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series (NCTS) point standings after a 16th-place finish at North Wilkesboro Speedway on Saturday afternoon. The driver of the No. 81 Friends of Jaclyn Foundation Chevrolet Silverado RST resides 17th in the drivers’ standings following his best short track finish of the season.
Mosack took the green flag in 19th after weather forced NASCAR to set the lineup per the rulebook. After posting the 11th-fastest lap in practice, Mosack and the No. 81 team were encouraged with their Chevrolet’s speed but faced a loose handling balance in the race. Mosack briefly lost a lap to the leaders in the opening 46-lap run, but was able to take the “wave around” to regain his lap at the first caution. While running on old tires for the final 17 of the opening segment, Mosack ended Stage 1 in 20th position.
Under the stage caution, crew chief Blake Bainbridge gave Mosack four tires, fuel, and adjustments to aid the loose handling. However, Mosack still wrestled with the balance in Stage 2 and was scored 21st at lap 140. The team elected to take two right side tires during the stage for track position and restarted 10th on lap 150.
The valiant strategy play came up snake eyes as Mosack’s free balance hindered his effort and was scored 19th when a caution flew on lap 210. He caught a late break on lap 246 when earned the “Lucky Dog” award with a late race caution to regain his lap. The break netted Mosack three points as he was able to advance from 19th to 16th on the final two-lap dash in overtime.
Connor Mosack Quote:
“We made some gains with our adjustments throughout the day, but we were just too loose more of the afternoon. I appreciate all the effort from our team to keep working on our Friends of Jaclyn Foundation Chevy. It’s some consolation to gain spots in the points. We’ll keep fighting for every spot and every point here these next few weeks and keep gaining on it.”
