Jack Wood, driver of the No. 91 Adaptive One Chevrolet Silverado RST was forced to start back of the pack yet again, due to wet weather conditions cancelled NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series (NCTS) qualifying Friday afternoon which relegated the young driver to a 22nd-place starting position for the Rackley Roofing 200 at Nashville Superspeedway. A quick caution arose on the opening laps of the 150-lap event and the No. 91 Chevrolet came out clean. With 23 laps remaining in the stage, the young driver reported to his team he just felt way to loose but continued on for a 23rd-place Stage One finish. Crew chief Kevin Bellicourt called the young driver down pit road under the stage break for four fresh tires, a top off on fuel and a slight trackbar adjustment.

Lining up 21st to start the second stage, Wood went for an unfortunate spin on the opening lap and quickly got to pit road under caution when it opened up for another set of fresh tires and a quick asess of any damaged that could have occurred. The No. 91 Adaptive One Calipers Chevrolet was clear of any carnage and was sent off to get back to work. Due to the field panning out fairly quick, there was no chance for the driver of the No. 91 to gain any track position which led him to finish the second stage 23rd in line. The Loomis, Calif. native reported to his team that he was still super loose and feeling no security on the right rear. Wood came down pit road under the yellow for four Goodyear stickers, some Sunoco race fuel and a few adjustments to help the handling on his race truck.

A solid stop helped the driver gain a spot on pit road to restart the final stage 22nd. The pack instantly began to stretch out which allowed for a quiet final stage but led the team no time to charge to the front and relegated the No. 91 to a 20th-place finish at Nashville. Friday night’s efforts led Wood to hop back into the 16th position in the NCTS point standings as the season is just hitting the halfway mark.

Jack Wood Quote:

“Was not the night we were hoping for here at Nashville but we had consistent speed and something to build on for sure. This track is just super hard to gain any track position, especially with the resin that they spread across all lanes on the track surface. Looking forward to Michigan next week so we will capitalize on what we had this week and focus forward onto the next.”
