Bollman to Make First AMSW Start on Familiar Ground at Madera

Madera Debut … Rookie driver Jake Bollman is making his first appearance at Madera Speedway in the ARCA Menards Series West (AMSW) on Saturday night. The driver of the No. 19 NAPA Auto Care Chevrolet SS is seeking this second victory and third pole award this season as the tour returns to the third-mile bullring for just the third time since 2009. Thus far, Bollman has recorded one victory and three top-five results in his six races. It may be Bollman’s first AMSW start at Madera, but he has hundreds of laps under his belt at the short track in both Jr late models and pro late model competition.

Staying Up Front … After an uncharacteristic result at All-American Speedway two weeks ago, Bollman and the NAPA Auto Care team look to return to form on Saturday night. The 18-year-old has been spectacular on the tight third-mile tracks this season with a pair of pole awards and a dominant victory at Colorado National Speedway (CNS) on May 24th. Bollman’s superb qualifying efforts have netted him front row starts in four of the last six races and have aided him to lead laps in four of the last five races. In his three prior starts at the 1/3-mile venues, Bollman has recorded a pair of podium results, including BMR’s 100th AMSW points-paying victory at CNS.

BMR at Madera … Madera Speedway is one of the 26 venues that BMR has conquered in the AMSW. In 2009, former series champion Eric Holmes led 48 of 150 laps en route to victory for the organization’s lone victory in Madera, Calif. Bollman looks to add the 101st AMSW victory to team owner Bill McAnally’s resume on Saturday evening.

Jake Bollman Quote:

On making his first start at Madera:

“I feel good about going to Madera this week. That place was a home track when I was younger running the different late model divisions. The super tight bullrings have been one of our NAPA Auto Care team’s strong suits this year. Madera is a bit different with the flat bottom and variable banking than some other places, but I think some ideas from Tucson and Colorado can transfer. We’ve been qualifying great, and if we can get back to that on Saturday, we’ll give ourselves a great chance to set the pace and keep our NAPA Auto Care Chevy up front.”
