Down to The Wire … Tyler Ankrum, driver of the No. 18 LIUNA Chevrolet Silverado RST heads down to the “Heart of Dixie” this Friday for the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series (NCTS) playoff event at Talladega Superspeedway. The Loves RV Stop 225 marks the second race in the Round of 8 before the championship event at Phoenix Raceway. Last week’s run at the Charlotte ROVAL was tough throughout the event but the young driver gained a solid amount of stage points that helped lock him in a tie for the second position in driver points with teammate Daniel Hemric. With only two races left to lock into the final four, Ankrum looks to clinch his spot with a victory at Talladega this Friday afternoon.

Super Speedway Racing … The San Bernardino, Calif. native will be making his seventh NCTS career start this weekend at the 2.66 mile tri-oval superspeedway with just two top-10 finishes and a best of seventh coming back in 2019. Talladega has been a battle for the young driver in the past as it is such an unpredictable track and anything can happen at any time, awaiting “the big one”. The No. 18 team seeks an improvement on past stats this coming Friday and a stellar finish that will help their chance to move on in the Round of 8.

Spoiler Highlights … Tyler Ankrum and the No. 18 team are excited to welcome aboard LIUNA’s Ohio Valley and Southern States Region (OVSSR) to adorn the left-side spoiler in the 85-lap event. This race will mark the OVSSR’s final race of the 2025 NCTS season in their region. Along with members, family members and friends of the region, we are excited to welcome LIUNA contractors and and many members of the pipeline industry within the union.

Tyler Ankrum Quote:

“Looking forward to Talladega. Even though it has not been to kind to me in the past, I still feel the momentum this No. 18 team has been able to carry through the playoffs so far and all the hard work they put in will help us have a solid day and stay in contention to transfer to the champ four. This place is one of those tracks that you can get caught up in the chaos super quick and mistakes can very easily fall in your lap so you have to be on focus at all moments and stay on your toes to stay out of the mess. Having this track in the Round of 8 is super challenging for sure, especially followed by Martinsville but we had a great points day at the ROVAL and I am confident we can keep that rolling into Talladega.”
