Deegan Top Five in Standings After Resilient Performance in Phoenix
Hailie Deegan battled through a chaotic night in the General Tire 150 at Phoenix Raceway, finishing 11th against one of the largest fields expected of the season. The event combined competitors from both the ARCA Menards Series national tour (AMS) and the ARCA Menards Series West (AMSW), creating a deep 40-car field. By evening’s end, Deegan’s 11th-place run advanced her into the top five of the AMSW points standings.
After qualifying 19th, Deegan settled into the race and worked through heavy traffic during the opening stages while avoiding multiple on track incidents. She ran inside the top 20 early and stayed patient as the field continued to shuffle through several cautions. Despite falling a lap down prior to the halfway break, Deegan stayed patient and put herself in position to rejoin the leaders shortly thereafter.
Late race attrition and smart positioning helped Deegan move forward in the closing laps. She avoided a major backstretch pileup and restarted near the edge of the top 15 before receiving the free pass to return to the lead lap. A late caution sett up an overtime finish as Deegan held steady during the final restart and crossed the line 11th after 157 laps. The result gained her one position in the AMSW standings to fifth, 15 points behind the lead.
