Elevate History … Daniel Hemric returns to Texas Motor Speedway (TMS) in “No Limits, Texas” hoping to elevate his recent history at the Lone Star State speed plant. The driver of the No. 19 NAPA Nightvision Chevrolet Silverado RST put on a late charge in last year’s visit to TMS to score a runner-up finish on the NAPA brand’s 100th anniversary weekend. Hemric’s muddy start to the 2026 campaign has picked up steam in recent weeks with three finishes of 12th or better, including a pair of top-10 results. Taking another step from last year’s result in Texas could jolt the No. 19 team’s season and vault them towards Chase contention.
Settling Wide Open Texas Spaces … Since making his first appearance at the track in 2015, “No Limits, Texas” has been a productive venue for Hemric across his NASCAR career. In addition to his runner-up a year ago, he has compiled two top-five and four top-10 finishes in his five NCTS starts, including a ninth-place effort in his first visit to the ultra-high-speed facility. His career in the former NASCAR Xfinity Series netted similar results with three top-five’s and four top-10’s in nine starts. Between the two series, Hemric has been a fixture at the front of the field by leading laps in seven of the 14 combined races. The 1.5-mile tracks were solid for Hemric in his first year behind the wheel of the No. 19 in 2025. He racked up two top-five’s and four top-10’s in the six races on 1.5-milers last season.
Season to Date … The regular season reached the one-third mark at Bristol Motor Speedway on April 10th. Hemric is digging his way up the standings, 16th in the drivers’ points and has gained 13 positions over the last four races. After starting the year with mechanical issues and 29th in points after two events, Hemric has closed to within 28 markers of the provision Chase cut line after six races.
Tune In … All on-track action from TMS gets underway on Friday with practice and qualifying at 2:30 p.m. ET Friday afternoon on FOX Sports 2. Round seven of the NCTS campaign is scheduled to go green at 8:00 p.m. ET on FOX Sports 1. Daniel Hemric Quote:
On the first traditional 1.5-mile track in 2026:
“Texas has always been a pretty consistent place for me over the years. We had a great run with our NAPA Chevy last year – put ourselves in a great position to race for a win and came up just short. We’d like to change that this week with our NAPA Nightvision Chevrolet and put one in the win column. There’s an extra 50 miles this week and Texas is a super-fast paced track. I’m sure the grip level will be up with the cooler temps. Track position always plays a big factor there but will probably be even more important this weekend. If we can improve our qualifying on Friday, we’ll put ourselves in a better spot to have a strong night.”
