Operation Coronado… Kris Wright and the No. 81 McAnally-Hilgemann Racing (MHR) team head west to San Diego, Calif., this weekend for a historic event at Naval Base Coronado. The newly constructed 16-turn circuit was designed to honor the men and women of the United States Armed Forces while also commemorating the nation’s 250th anniversary. As the first series to compete on the new course, the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series (NCTS) will play a prominent role in opening a landmark weekend of racing, with Wright and the No. 81 team set to take on the inaugural event Friday afternoon.

Capitalize on Lefts & Rights… The No. 81 MHR team arrives at Naval Base Coronado this weekend ready to execute its next mission on the 16-turn street circuit. The temporary course will serve as the third road-course event of the 2026 NCTS season. Wright has shown encouraging speed on similar layouts this year, contending for top-10 finishes at both the streets of St. Petersburg and Watkins Glen International before late-race setbacks altered the final results. Across those two events, the Pittsburgh, Pa. native spent 111 laps running inside the top-15. The objective for Wright and the No. 81 team this weekend is to turn their road-course pace into a result and improve on their 19th-place finish at St. Petersburg.

Season to Date… Friday afternoon’s race will mark Wright’s 21st career road-course start and his second street-course appearance of the 2026 season. While the results have yet to reflect the speed shown on road courses this year, the No. 81 MHR team heads to Coronado looking to capitalize on another competitive road-course package. Wright enters the weekend 22nd in the NCTS standings with four top-20 finishes through the opening 12 races, including a 19th-place result on the Grand Prix of St. Petersburg. With consecutive road-course events on the schedule, the Pittsburgh, Pa. native has an opportunity to gain ground in the championship standings before the series begins its final push toward the Chase.

“This weekend is going to be an incredible experience in Coronado. I’m super excited to get on track and put on a show for all the great military men & women who serve our country. We’ve shown strong speed on both road courses so far this season and I expect the same with our beautiful patriotic Chevrolet Silverado RST. We’re going to have some fun this weekend.”
