Kern Repeat..? Mason Massey and the No. 19 NAPA Nightvision team travel to West Bakersfield, Calif., this weekend for the ARCA Menards Series West (AMSW) season finale at Kevin Harvick’s Kern Raceway. The half-mile oval plays host to Saturday’s NAPA Auto Parts 150 presented by West Coast Stock Car Motorsports Hall of Fame. The series returns to Kern for the second time this season after Massey lead 31 laps and took home the checkered flag in his debut in the AMSW season opener. The event was a precursor for a strong season for the No. 19 NAPA Nightvision Chevrolet SS as they want to end the season the way they started and bring Bill McAnally Racing (BMR) their eighth victory at the short track.

Half-Mile Heroics… Massey’s 100 career NASCAR starts have given him a good bit of experience on half-mile ovals. The Douglasville, Ga., native has nine career NASCAR starts across three different tracks in both the NASCAR Xfinity Series and the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series (NCTS). Those starts are highlighted by an 11th-place finish in the NCTS race at Martinsville Speedway in 2024. Across two half-mile starts in the AMSW, Massey has visited victory lane in the season opener at Kern and finished fifth at Tri-City Raceway, known as the “Tricky Tri-Oval.” The NAPA Auto Parts 150 plays to Massey and BMR’s strengths as they have found speed in the second half of the AMSW schedule and look to get out the witches’ brooms Saturday night on Halloween.

Season to Date… Massey enters the season finale second in the AMSW championship standings, 39 points out of the lead, with two wins, eight top-fives and nine top-10s. Coming off a rain-shortened third-place finish at Phoenix Raceway two weekends ago, Massey has his eyes on the checkered flag as he looks to win his first AMSW championship Saturday night at Kern Raceway.

Mason Massey Quote
On looking back on his season:
“I’m super grateful for the opportunity to join the West Series with Bill [McAnally, owner] this season and compete for wins every weekend. My time in NASCAR has been great, but it’s been a special year to find a home where I know I can win. We’ve been in the fight just about every race this season. Coming back to Kern brings back memories of my series debut in February and reminds me what it means to be in race-winning equipment. Championship or not, I’m proud of everyone at Bill McAnally Racing and grateful for the support of NAPA Auto Care, specifically NAPA Nightvision this weekend, Mongoose Power Solutions, Brunt Workwear and everyone else who helps put this program together. We’re going to go out there and fight for the win for everyone involved and finish the year on a high note.”
