Bollman’s BMR Debut Hit Setback at Phoenix

Venue: Phoenix Raceway
Date: March 7
Start: 7th
Finish: 24th
Jake Bollman, driver of the No. 19 NAPA Auto Care Chevrolet SS, hit a series of unfortunate events as his ARCA Menards Series West (AMSW) debut with Bill McAnally Racing came head to head with an unfortunate incident early on in the 150-lap event that set the No.19 team back. Due to inclement weather, AMSW practice and qualifying was cancelled Friday afternoon which led the series to line the drivers up by 2024 owner’s points, resulting in a seventh-place starting position for the 17-year-old.
After a delayed start to make sure the track was clear of any rain spots, the green flag fell as Bollman stayed clean on the opening laps and held his spot in the top 10. Due to weather troubles earlier in the day, a competition caution was added on lap 20 for the AMSW field. Restarting in ninth, the young driver wasted no time in his charge to the front until an unfortunate incident cutting the left-front tire sent Bollman into the outside Turn 1 wall on lap 33. The No. 19 NAPA Auto Care Chevrolet SS was sent behind the wall where the team was able to do damage control and get the young driver back out on the track. Bollman carried the injured Chevrolet SS for the remaining laps and ultimately ended his night 24th at Phoenix Raceway.
Jake Bollman Quote: “Super unfortunate that our night ended the way it did and that we had that road block so early in the race but I am so proud of these guys for bouncing back and getting our NAPA Auto Care Chevrolet back out on track to finish the night. This BMR team gave me such a solid ride tonight, it is just a shame we could not get the result to show for it. Huge thanks to BMR and NAPA Racing for all the support and effort they put into this program. I have had so much fun with these guys already and I know that we are going to have a solid rest of the season and hopefully make a few trips to Victory Lane.”
