Double-Header Debut Awaits Johnson Jr. at Irwindale

Double Time… Eric Johnson Jr. is set to get his first look at Irwindale Speedway in this action-packed double-header weekend for the ARCA Menards Series West (AMSW). Last month at Sonoma Raceway, Johnson Jr. started in the rear of the field and drove up to seventh-place, earning his career best finish in the AMSW. Heading into the weekend Johnson Jr. sits seventh in the standings, 39-points back of the lead.
Irwindale Debut … After the Irwindale Spring race was rescheduled due to weather, Independence Day week now provides two 150-lap events over the course of three-days. BMR has seen a fair share of victory lane at Irwindale Speedway by collecting a total of 17-wins since 2001. Johnson Jr. now has two opportunities two add to BMR’s illustrious career at the 0.5-mile oval.
Season To Date … With exception of his transmission issue at Sonoma, Johnson Jr. has qualified 16th or better in three events this season. His best start of the year came at the Portland International Raceway road course where he started 14th. The 20-year-old driver from La Center, WA, has an average finish of 14.0 with two top-10 results. Johnson Jr. earned his career best points day at Sonoma with 37-points after his seventh-place finish.
Tune In … This Independence Day double header will begin on Thursday, July 4th at 10:05 p.m. ET. The second race of the week will drop the green flag on Saturday, July 6th at 10:05 p.m. ET.
