In the long awaited ARCA Menards Series West return to Tri-City Raceway, Eric Johnson, Jr., earned a 13th-place finish. Johnson Jr. qualified in the ninth position, but early in the race climbed well into the top 10, rising as high as sixth by lap six. He was able to maintain this position until lap 28, when the handling began to go sour in his No. 19 Pacific Office Automation Chevrolet SS.
At the halfway break on lap 75, Johnson, Jr. visited pit road for tires and service, making a large adjustment in hopes of correcting the handling.
Following the break, Johnson Jr. restarted 14th, but climbed back into the top 10. Eventually, during several late race cautions, Johnson Jr. fell back to the 13th position, where he remained until the checkered flag flew at lap 150.
Eric Johnson Jr. Quote:
“Reflecting on the race, it’s frustrating to show such speed in practice only to have mechanical issues cut our day short once again. I think we had the potential to compete up front, but as everyone else says, that’s racing. I’d just like to give a huge thank you to our partners at Pacific Office Automation for their continued support. We’ll come back stronger and ready to fight another day!”
