Jack Wood delivered a consistent top-five effort in Saturday night’s NAPA Auto Parts 150 at All-American Speedway. The driver of the No. 16 NAPA Auto Parts Chevrolet SS racked up his fourth top-five result with a fifth place finish as the 150-lap showdown at BMR’s home track ran caution free. After 10 of 12 events, Wood remains fourth in the ARCA Menards Series championship standings.

Wood and the NAPA Auto Care team showed significant speed from their first laps on track by posting the second-quickest lap in the afternoon practice session. He followed that up by stopping the clock at 13.82 seconds and earned the fifth starting position.

The hometown driver from nearby Loomis, Calif. capitalized on starting on the inside lane and immediately took fourth position on lap two. He quickly advanced to third by lap five and ran there for the next 40 laps. As the tires wore and the race pace slowed, Wood found himself running fifth just prior to halfway. He managed to stay on the lead lap for the duration of the race and take the checkered flag in fifth.

Jack Wood Quote:

“Pretty solid night for our NAPA Auto Care team. It’s good to get another top-five finish, especially here in Roseville. A good finish, but we needed some more speed for the extreme long run. We fired off pretty good in the first 30-40 laps, but just needed some more pace after halfway. We’ll keep working go to Kern in a few weeks.”
