Seeking a Breakthrough … The ARCA Menards Series West (AMSW) returns to action for the first time in seven weeks as Jack Wood readies to make his first start at Madera Speedway. The driver of the No. 16 NAPA Auto Care Chevrolet SS is seeking a breakthrough performance and return the BMR team to victory lane. The Loomis, Calif. product has been closing in on his first-career victory with two top-five finishes in the last three races. He and crew chief Kevin Bellicourt look to engineer a momentous effort at Madera’s third-mile bullring on Saturday night.
Saving the Best for Last … As the AMSW campaign begins the stretch run towards the finale in Phoenix, Ariz., Wood has saved his best performances for the last part of the season. He shrugged the monkey off his back at Sonoma Raceway where he notched his first top-five result of the year and has only improved since. His runner-up effort in the second act of the doubleheader weekend at Irwindale Speedway ignited Wood’s season and has captured three-consecutive top-six results. Most recently, Wood earned a podium run at Tri-City Raceway in Washington state last month and sits third in the championship standings with four events remaining.
BMR History at Shasta… Wood and his BMR teammate Eric Johnson Jr. look to join Eric Holmes as winners at Madera Speedway. Holmes, who serves as Wood’s spotter in both AMSW and NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series competition, scored a victory at Madera for BMR in April of 2009 behind the wheel of the No. 20 NAPA entry. Saturday’s 150-lap shootout is just the second stop for the tour at Madera since that night in 2009.

Jack Wood Quote:
On making his debut at Madera:
“I’m excited to get back out to California and race our NAPA Auto Care Chevrolet. It feels like it’s been a while since Tri-City, but hopefully we can continue this little bit of momentum we’ve had the second half of the year. The bullrings like Madera are really fun to race on. You definitely need the car to rotate in the center of the corner and get in a good rhythm quickly once the green flag drops. We’ve improved as a team throughout the year, so hopefully we can put the whole night together and finally get a win.”
