Debut to Tri-City … Tri-City Raceway is set to host the ARCA Menards Series West (AMSW) competitors for the first time in 21 years on Saturday night as Jack Wood will make his debut at the triangular half mile. The driver of the No. 16 NAPA Auto Care Chevrolet SS has his career-best second-place finish still fresh in his mind from Irwindale Speedway two races ago and hopes his first start in Washington state will produce his first-career victory. Wood most recently finished sixth at Shasta Speedway two weeks prior and looks to bounce back in Saturday night’s NAPA Auto Care 150 presented by Vic’s Auto Supply powered by PEAK.
Looking to Gain Ground … Through seven of 12 events on the AMSW calendar, Wood is locked in a fierce battle for third in the championship standings. He enters Tr-City tied for third position in the title battle and is 40 points behind the lead. Thus far, Wood has accumulated two top-five and four top-10 finishes. The Californian has significantly elevated his performance in recent weeks and has posted finishes of sixth or better in three of the last four races, including the pair of top-five results.
BMR History at Tri-City… Saturday’s NAPA Auto Care 150 marks only the second time that BMR teams will have competed at Tri-City. Wood was just two years old when the tour last visited Tri-City in 2003. Jeff Jefferson piloted BMR’s No. 16 NAPA Chevrolet to a fifth-place finish at the half-mile over two decades ago. Saturday’s running marks the AMSW’s 10th event at Tri-City since the inaugural visit in 1968.

Jack Wood Quote:
On making his first appearance at Tri-City:
“It’s going to be a new experience for nearly everyone in the field, including me, so I’m looking forward to the challenge. It’s always fun to race somewhere new and try to figure out the characteristics of a track for the first time. Our NAPA Auto Care team has definitely found a little extra the last four races or so, and we want to consistently be in the mix for wins the rest of the season. Hopefully we can put ourselves up front on Saturday night and put on a show for all the NAPA folks coming out this weekend.”
