BMR Drivers Head To K&N East Event
• Series Visits Memphis International Raceway
ROSEVILLE, Calif. (May 29, 2018) – Bill McAnally Racing will make its third venture of this season into the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East, with a trip to Tennessee’s Memphis International Raceway on Saturday.
Derek Kraus, Cole Rouse, and Hailie Deegan will be making their first series visit to the 3/4-mile tri-oval.
BMR’s trio of drivers are running the full 15-race schedule in the West division of the NASCAR K&N Pro Series this year – while also racing select events in the East division, such is the Memphis race.
Kraus of Stratford, Wisconsin is behind the wheel of BMR’s No. 16 NAPA AUTO PARTS Toyota Camry. The 16-year-old NASCAR Next driver is coming off a fifth-place finish in K&N West action at Orange Show Speedway in Southern California. He got off to a strong start this season, finishing fourth at Florida’s New Smyrna Speedway in the K&N East season opener and winning the K&N West opener at Kern County Raceway Park near Bakersfield, California.
Deegan, also a member of the 2018 NASCAR Next class, is a 16-year-old series rookie – who drives the No. 19 Mobil 1 / NAPA Power Premium Plus Toyota Camry. She notched her first top five in the series, with a fourth-place finish at Orange Show Speedway. She had top-10 finishes in her first three K&N West starts prior to that.
Rouse – who drives the No. 99 NAPA Filters Toyota Camry – is a 20-year-old from Fort Smith, Arkansas. He’s coming off a third-place finish at Orange Show Speedway. He also had a strong start to the season, finishing second at New Smyrna and third at Kern County.
He’s been close to getting his first series victory on several occasions and considers that Memphis will offer him a great opportunity to get that first win.
“I think we’ll have a good shot at Memphis,” he said. “That’s my kind of race track. All the big tracks I like, anything over a half-mile. So, I’m really excited to go there.”
Activities for the weekend will get underway on Friday beginning at 11 a.m., with a NASCAR Hauler Parade to the speedway. An open test session will be at the track from 3 to 6 p.m.
Fans will have the opportunity to meet the BMR drivers and other series competitors during a special Fan Fest event at the Bass Pro Shops at the Pyramid in downtown Memphis on Friday evening. Drivers will greet fans and sign autographs.
Saturday’s race will feature a NAPA Hospitality event, where the BMR drivers are slated to make a special visit. NAPA guests will also be treated to a VIP pit tour, and have the opportunity to attend the drivers meeting.
The Memphis race is to be televised on NBCSN on June 6 at 6 p.m. ET.
