BMR’s Talented Young Rookies Head To New Smyrna
• ARCA East Debut Set For Season Opener
ROSEVILLE, Calif. (Feb. 5, 2020) – Four talented young drivers with Bill McAnally Racing are set to make their debut in NASCAR’s ARCA Menards Series East as part of NASCAR Speedweeks in Florida, as the circuit kicks off its 2020 campaign at New Smyrna Speedway on Monday.
Giovanni Scelzi, Jesse Love, Holley Hollan and Gracie Trotter will take to the high-banked, half-mile oval in the 175-lap event that is part of the speedway’s Annual World Series of Stock Car Asphalt Racing.
Scelzi of Fresno, California; Hollan of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; and Trotter of Denver, North Carolina; are all 18. Love of Menlo Park, California is 15. All four are participants in Toyota’s driver development program. They are slated to run the full schedule in the ARCA Menards Series West, along with other additional select ARCA races.
Scelzi, the son of four-time NHRA drag racing champion Gary Scelzi, is making the transition to stock cars from open-wheel racing on dirt. He will be behind the wheel of BMR’s iconic No. 16 NAPA AUTO PARTS Toyota Camry.
Love brings with him a varied racing resume that includes competition on dirt and asphalt. He will be in the No. 19 NAPA Power Premium Plus Toyota Camry for BMR.
Hollan is making a transition similar to Scelzi, after racing exclusively on dirt tracks. She will be driving the No. 50 JBL / NAPA Filters / NAPA Belts & Hoses Toyota Camry for BMR.
Trotter, who is moving up from super late models and Legends cars, will be in BMR’s No. 99 ENEOS Toyota Camry.
In advance of the New Smyrna race, the BMR drivers will be attending a Speedweeks Kickoff Event, hosted by Daytona International Speedway. BMR’s No. 16 NAPA AUTO PARTS / Curb Records Toyota Camry and No. 99 ENEOS Toyota Camry will also be on display at the promotional event for fans at One Daytona, across from the superspeedway in Daytona Beach, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday.
At New Smyrna Speedway on Monday, BMR is planning a VIP experience for guests from NAPA and ENEOS who attend the race.
