K&N Pro Series East Makes Inaugural Visit To Motordrome

• BMR’s Drake Locked In Tight Top-10 Points Battle

ROSEVILLE, Calif. (Aug. 11, 2015) – The NASCAR K&N Pro Series East will make its inaugural visit to Motordrome Speedway in Smithton, Pennsylvania for the UPMC Health Plan 150 on Saturday.

It will be the third race in three weeks for the series – with visits to Iowa, New York and Pennsylvania.

Nick Drake will be behind the wheel of the Bill McAnally Racing No. 15 NAPA AUTO PARTS Toyota, looking to gain ground in what is a very tight battle for positions among top 10 drivers in the series.

The 19-year-old Mooresville, North Carolina driver is ninth in the championship standings. He is among four drivers separated by just six points. With the standings so tightly bunched and being only 11 points out of the top five, Drake knows how beneficial a strong finish in these final races can be.

“We need to just keep doing what we’ve been doing,” Drake said. “We’ve been in the top five the last few races, we just haven’t had the finish to show for it. Our NAPA Toyota has been fast.”

Drake and his BMR team don’t plan to alter their strategy for these events, he said.

“Our game plan’s the same, to run as good as we can and try to win races,” he said. “That’s our goal. It would definitely be nice to have a change of luck sometime soon.”

Drake, in his second season in the series, has one top five and five top-10 finishes in 10 starts this year.

Among the four races remaining on the K&N Pro Series East schedule, the event on the half-mile banked oval at Motordrome is the last actual short-track event. The balance of the schedule features visits to a road course, Virginia International Raceway in Alton, Virginia; a 3/4-mile oval, Richmond (Virginia) International Raceway; and a one-mile high-banked track, Dover (Delaware) International Speedway.

The UPMC Health Plan 150, the 11th event on a 14-race schedule, will be televised on NBCSN on Aug. 20 at 7 p.m. ET.
