Large Field Of Late Models Entered In October Classic
• 40 Entries In Annual Roseville Race
ROSEVILLE, Calif. (Oct. 8, 2014) – All American Speedway will host one of Northern California’s largest late model races of the year when the Pacific Challenge Series late models come to Roseville for the annual October Classic on Saturday, Oct. 11.
Forty entries have been submitted for the NAPA Mufflers & Shocks 100 – which will share the stage at the historic fairgrounds track with the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West.
The event – which will benefit the Placer Breast Cancer Endowment – will feature two-time Daytona 500 champion Michael Waltrip, a contestant on this season’s “Dancing With The Stars” television show on ABC. Waltrip will greet fans, sign autographs and compete in the K&N West race.
Well-known former NASCAR Sprint Cup Series crew chief Larry McReynolds, now the lead analyst for NASCAR racing on FOX television, will serve as the Grand Marshal for the event.
“This race has attracted some of the top late model drivers on the West Coast,” said event promoter Bill McAnally. “The Pacific Challenge Series is known for its close door-to-door competition and with such a large field of late models entered, it should be a very exciting event for the fans.”
Jeremy Doss will be looking for his third consecutive late model victory at Roseville, with his most recent win being in a Pacific Challenge Series race at All American Speedway on Sept. 20.
The October Classic will also feature a special media race, the Basalite Media Blitz 100, which always generates a lot of interest as fans get to see members of the Sacramento area media in competition behind the wheel of a race car.
Also in competition at All American Speedway on Saturday will be the California Mini Cup division.
