McReynolds Aims To Be First Repeat Winner At Iowa
• Eggleston, Drake Try To Join List Of Winners In East-West Combo Race
ROSEVILLE, Calif. (July 28, 2015) – Bill McAnally Racing’s Brandon McReynolds will be aiming for another victory in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East-West combination race at Iowa Speedway on Friday and on becoming the first driver with more than one win in the prestigious event.
Meanwhile, his BMR teammates – Chris Eggleston and Nick Drake – will each try to join the list of winners as the 13th different driver to capture a victory in the combo race at Newton, Iowa.
McReynolds drove the No. 16 NAPA AUTO PARTS Toyota to Victory Lane in May, in the first of two East-West events at the .875-mile track this year. The 24-year-old Mooresville, North Carolina driver was the 12th different driver to win in 12 combo races at Iowa dating back to 2007.
Nineteen-year-old Drake, also of Mooresville, came close to a win there last year – finishing second in the No. 15 NAPA AUTO PARTS Toyota as a rookie in his first East-West race in May of 2014.
Eggleston, who has two victories already this season and leads the championship standings in the K&N Pro Series West, saw a possible top-10 finish slip away due to a flat tire in the first combo race earlier this year. The Erie, Colorado driver hopes to avoid such bad luck in his return to the Hawkeye state with the No. 99 NAPA AutoCare/ H2O Fire Protection Toyota.
McReynolds heads to Iowa ninth in the standings for the K&N Pro Series West. In addition to his win, he has four top-10 finishes in seven starts this year. Along with his two victories, Eggleston has four top-five and five top-10 finishes in seven starts as he competes in his first full season in the season.
Drake is seventh in the championship standings for the K&N Pro Series East, with one top-five and five top-10 finishes in eight starts this season.
The list of winners in the East-West combination race at Iowa include notable names such as Kyle Busch, Joey Logano, Chase Elliott, and Cole Custer.
The entertainment at Iowa continues after the race on Friday, with a post-race concert as part of the NAPA AUTO PARTS Concert Series at the speedway. The concert, which takes place after the checkered flag waves and is free to those who attend the race, will feature Rock Godz and their tribute to the biggest names in rock.
The East-West combination race will be televised on NBCSN on Aug. 6.
