NASCAR K&N Pro Series East Set For Fourth Visit To Langley

·   Rookie Drake Looks To Become Fourth Different Winner At Virginia Track

ROSEVILLE, Calif. (June 17, 2014) – The NASCAR K&N Pro Series East will make its fourth annual visit to Langley Speedway in Hampton, Virginia for the Visit Hampton 175 on Saturday.

Rookie Nick Drake, who drives the No. 15 NAPA AUTO PARTS Toyota for Bill McAnally Racing, is looking to score his first series win and become the fourth different driver to visit Victory Lane in K&N Pro Series East competition at the .396-mile oval.

 

Previous winners there included Sergio Pena in 2011, Corey LaJoie in 2012 and Dylan Kwasniewski, who went on to win the championship after winning at Langley last year.

 

“We tested really well there the other week,” said Drake, who will be making his first start at Langley. “I think if we can find the right balance of the car for the transition between the daytime and throughout the night, we’ll have our NAPA Toyota in contention for the win.”

 

Drake is coming off a 14th-place finish at Five Flags Speedway in Pensacola, Florida on Friday. The 18-year-old registered a career-best series mark with a runner-up finish at Iowa Speedway last month. Two weeks prior to that, he won his first pole and finished third at Richmond (Virginia) International Raceway. Overall, he has three top fives and four top 10s in eight series starts this year.

Drake, who graduated from Lake Norman High School in Mooreseville on Saturday, is third in points in the Sunoco Rookie of the Year standings and seventh in the overall championship standings for the K&N Pro Series East.

This year’s race at Langley Speedway, which will be televised on FOX Sports 1 on June 27 at noon ET, is the ninth on a 16-event series schedule.
