No. 16 NAPA AUTO PARTS Toyota team Double-Header in the Midwest

Roseville, Ca ( June 10, 2013) Eric Holmes and the No. 16 NAPA AUTO PARTS Toyota team from BMR brought home a sixth place finish in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West inaugural visit to Lebanon I-44 Speedway in Lebanon, MO on Jun 9th.

Rainy weather greeted the NAPA team in Lebanon. Holmes was fifth quick during practice and qualified on the inside of row three. It took him only a few laps to move into the second spot. Greg Pursley would retake the position at lap 18. At the halfway break, Holmes was running in fifth. Back at it, Holmes would move thru the field and was up to third at lap 90 of the 150 lap race. At lap 124, oil on the track had Holmes go for a spin dropping him to ninth. He would charge forward to finish the race just outside of the top-five.

The Toyota G-Oil “150” was held on Sunday June 9th was the second race of the weekend for the boys from BMR. It followed the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East-West combination race at Iowa Speedway in Newton, Iowa on Friday, June 7.

Iowa Speedway hosted the NASCAR K&N Pro Series Combination race in which drivers from the East and drivers from the West faced off for bragging rights and championship points in their respective divisions. This was the series ninth visit to Iowa Speedway.

Forty-three teams made the journey to Iowa. Holmes and the No. 16 NAPA Toyota team were prepared to make the run for the front. Holmes would start the race in mid-pack on the outside of row eleven alongside the West Series point leader, Derek Thorn.

Holmes began his climb thru traffic and gained four spots by lap 75. At lap 102, he was shown in 12th and with less than 25 laps to go, he was shown in seventh. Coming thru turn one and two, a competitor tagged the No. 16 NAPA Toyota Camry sending Holmes into the wall ending his night. He would finish in 35th.

Eric Holmes said, “I’m okay after that hard hit. I sure will be sore tomorrow though. The driver that hit me never lifted in the corner. I don’t know what they were thinking. It’s not how we wanted to finish this race. We had a great NAPA Toyota Camry and had a good shot at a podium finish.”

The Casey’s General Store “150” Will be shown on SPEED Channel on June 13th at 3 pm eastern time. The Toyota G-Oil “150” will be televised also on SPEED Channel on Jun 20th at 3 pm eastern time.The next event for the teams from BMR will be on June 22nd when they join the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series at Sonoma Raceway.
