Daniel Dye earned his career best short track result after finishing ninth at North Wilkesboro Speedway (NWS). Dye earned a total of 30-points Sunday now putting him 17 markers off from being in the 10th position for the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series (NCTS) points standings. The driver of the No. 43 Champion Container Chevrolet Silverado RST holds 12th-place and has a 13-point gap to the driver behind him the points standings.

Dye began his race in the 18th position after qualifying was canceled due to the weather conditions. When the race began, he was able move up to 11th-place until a caution came out on lap 58. Dye told his crew chief Blake Bainbridge that he felt super tight and was using a ton of brakes. Bainbridge brought Dye to pit road under the caution with several other drivers to get four tires, fuel, and a track bar adjustment. Dye cycled out off pit road into 16th and gained one more position before the end of Stage 1 on lap 70.

The race was postponed after a few laps in Stage 2 after severe thunderstorms made its way to Wilkes County. The Wright Brand 250 resumed Sunday morning and began on lap 87 with Dye in 11th position. Dye moved to ninth-place when the caution flag flew on lap 117 and Bainbridge brought Dye down pit road two laps later for right side tires and fuel.

After his stop Dye cycled out into 11th-place and gained two more positions before the end of Stage 2 on lap 140. During the final stage Dye told the No. 43 team that his truck still felt tight, but was more manageable when running a lower line. Dye battled for a top-10 spot for the remainder of the race and finished ninth to score his career-best short track finish. Dye is in 12th position for NCTS points standings sitting 17 points off the provisional playoff cut line.
