Daniel Dye finished his night at Bristol Motor Speedway (BMS) in 13th position, his best result in two starts at “Thunder Valley”. This is Dye’s third track-best result in the first four races of the season. The No. 43 Champion Container Chevrolet Silverado RST helped MHR place all four of their entries in the top-15 for the first time this season.
Dye put on another impressive performance in qualifying which resulted in him starting 10th for the 250-lap race around “Thunder Valley”. Though he felt that his truck was “loose in traffic”, Dye managed to navigate through lap traffic by lap 30. Dye was scored in the 14th position at the end of Stage 1 on lap 65. Dye and the No. 43 team elected to retain their track position by staying on track under caution.
The green flag flew on lap 77 as Dye found himself 15th and battled the pack during the second stage. Managing to navigate more lapped traffic, Dye was scored in 17th and visited pit road for his only stop of the night at the end of stage 2.
Crew chief Blake Bainbridge and the Champion Container team gave Dye four fresh tires, fuel, and adjustments to help with handling. Dye gained five places after pitting and began the final stage in 12th. Dye finished his night in the 13th position giving him his third track-best finish this season. MHR had all four drivers finish their night in the top-15 for this first time this year. With that result Dye maintains his 11th place in the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series (NCTS) points standings.
Daniel Dye Quote:
“We had a pretty good day, not just myself but MHR too. I was fighting the truck a bit through lapped traffic but still found speed. Overall I’m glad I earned some points and able to keep my spot in the points standings.”
