Fresh Start… As anticipation builds for the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series (NCTS) race at Daytona International Speedway (DIS), eyes are on Daniel Dye as he prepares to begin his 2024 campaign in his first season with McAnally-Hilgemann Racing (MHR). Piloting his familiar No. 43 Champion Container Chevrolet Silverado RST, Dye is prepared for his second full-time NCTS season and is looking to reach the playoffs for the first time in his young career.

Going Way Back … In 2022, Dye had his first experience with Bill McAnally Racing in the ARCA Menards Series West at Portland International Raceway. Dye demonstrated exceptional skill as he navigated through wet course conditions in qualifying to capture his first-career road course pole award. Despite adverse weather forcing the race to be called after 42 laps, Dye’s impressive performance that resulted in a top-five finish marked the beginning of his relationship with team owner Bill McAnally.

Hometown Excitement… Dye’s kickoff to his sophomore NCTS comes right in his own backyard at DIS. Last year, Dye’s debut at the “World Center of Racing” was cut short by DIS’ stereotypical chaos, but that memory has fueled him with extra motivation to earn a career-best finish at his home track. The 20-year-old has shown to have a knack for superspeedway racing as evidenced by a third-place finish in his first ARCA Menards Series start at DIS in 2022. He’ll look to replicate a similar result on Friday night and jumpstart his second NCTS campaign. He’s continued to showcase his superspeedway ability in NCTS competition and posted a career-best sixth-place finish last fall at Talladega Superspeedway.

MHR Expansion … MHR has evolved from a single-truck operation into four entries in 2024. Alongside Dye, teammates Christian Eckes (No.19), Tyler Ankrum (No. 18), and Jack Wood (No. 91), each bring their own skill sets and determination help forming a formidable lineup. Dye and crew chief Blake Bainbridge will look to deepen the level of playoff experience in the MHR stable this season.

Tune In… FOX Sports 1 will have all on-track action covered at DIS, beginning with practice at 5:00 p.m. ET on Thursday. Raceday coverage begins at 3:00 p.m. ET on Friday with qualifying followed by NASCAR Raceday at 6:30 p.m. ET. The drop of the first green flag for the 2024 campaign will be at 7:30 p.m. ET. Daniel Dye Quote:

“I’m pretty excited to get back on track at Daytona with the McAnally-Hilgemann Racing team this weekend. The whole team has been working really hard during the offseason to make sure our Champion Container, Race to Stop Suicide Chevrolet Silverado RST has speed. I’ll have some experienced teammates to help with drafting on Friday night, so I’m really looking forward to getting going.”
