New and Improved… Daniel Dye is set to make his second career appearance at North Wilkesboro Speedway (NWS) this Saturday afternoon. Dye has been a steady performer at short tracks this season with a pair of 13th-place finishes and sits 12th in the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series (NCTS) points standings. His previous appearance at NWS saw him finish 14th in 2023. This weekend at the newly paved NWS, Dye will return in his red & white Champion Container scheme to continue his push for a playoff spot.

Short track history… Dye notched his career-best short tracks results earlier this year at Bristol Motor Speedway (BMS) and Martinsville Speedway with the aforementioned 13th-place results. He recently strung together consecutive top-10 finishes for the first time in his NCTS career at Texas Motor Speedway (TMS) and Kansas Speedway, and he looks replicate that feat on NWS’ fresh asphalt. The MHR teams have flexed their muscle in both short track events this season with Christian Eckes claiming both victories and had all four drivers qualify in the top-10 at BMS.

Season to Date … After nine races, Dye has a total of 205 points which has placed him 20 markers away from the provisional cut line 12th position. In three races this year, the 20-year-old driver has scored top-10 results and tied his career-best finish of sixth at TMS. Dye has an average start of 10.6, the fourth-best average of all NCTS competitors.

Tune In … FOX Sports 1’s (FS1) coverage from NWS begins with practice on Friday afternoon at 3:00 p.m. ET. FS1’s coverage continues Saturday at 10:30 a.m. ET with qualifying, followed by NASCAR Raceday at 1:00 p.m. ET and the green flag at 1:30 p.m. ET. Daniel Dye Quote:

On managing the new NWS pavement:

“North Wilkesboro is cool because there is so much history to it, and it’s really fun to be able to race there. With the repave, it will feel completely different from the last year. Thankfully, Christian (Eckes) tested there earlier this spring, so it is nice to get an idea on what to expect. Our Champion Container team has had good speed and I feel like we are in a good place. We’ve had some decent finishes at the two short track races this year, but we want improve and get ourselves back inside the top-10 this weekend.”
