Back To Action … After a three-week hiatus, Daniel Dye is back in action this weekend at Nashville Superspeedway (NSS). The driver of the No. 43 NAPA Nightvision Chevrolet Silverado RST is looking to track down his first-career playoff berth with four races remaining in the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series (NCTS) regular season. Dye currently sits in 12th-place in the point standings and enters NSS 37 points below the cut line after a 12th-place finish at World Wide Technology Raceway on June 1st.
The Points Race … Dye will be sporting the black and yellow NAPA Nightvision colors at NSS as he looks to inch closer to the playoff grid. After 12 starts in 2024, Dye has accumulated a total of 282 points. That point total comes from the help of nine races where he scored at least 20 markers. In three events this year, Dye earned at least 30 points with his biggest points day coming at Texas Motor Speedway (TMS) with a total of 39 from a sixth-place finish. The Floridian’s performance this year has been an exceptional improvement from his rookie campaign in 2023. Dye currently sits six positions higher in the standings with 71 more points and an average finish of 15.5, nearly five positions better than last season.
Season to Date … In 12 races, Dye has four times the number of top-10 results as he did in his entire rookie year. His average starting position is 13.6 which is 10th-best overall in the series. In six events, Dye has started 10th position or better, including his first-career pole award at Atlanta Motor Speedway. His sixth-place run at TMS also matched a career-best finish, and followed that up with his first pair of consecutive top-10 finishes with a ninth-place result at Kansas Speedway.
Tune In … All of Friday’s on-track activity from NSS will be carried live on FOX Sports 2 beginning with practice and qualifying at 4:30 p.m. ET followed by the green flag at 8:00 p.m. ET. Daniel Dye Quote:
On Coming Back After Three Weeks Off :
“I’m excited to get back in my No. 43 NAPA Nightvision Chevy this weekend at Nashville. It’s nice to have some time off and take a step back for a moment. These last couple of weeks I have spent a lot of time getting with my team to prepare for the few regular season races remaining. I also was able to run a Xfinity race at Iowa and had a strong run to score my first career top-10 in the series. With these last couple of races our goal is still the same. We want to earn our spot in the playoffs and be a strong contender. “
