A New Week… Daniel Dye, driver of the No. 43 Champion Container Chevrolet Silverado RST, is gearing up for his second-career start at Atlanta Motor Speedway (AMS) this Saturday. Dye showcased his speed and skill at Daytona International Speedway (DIS) last week by qualifying seventh in the second round of qualifying and finished fifth position in the second stage. After being involved in a last lap accident, Dye still was able to gather 23 valuable championship points. He and the No. 43 team led by crew chief Blake Bainbridge return to another drafting track at AMS looking to capitalize on the performance they showcased one week ago.
A Time To Grow… Despite a 16th place finish in his debut race at AMS last year, Dye’s has displayed plenty of potential in the draft to be a contender on Saturday afternoon. His performance at DIS demonstrated his ability to navigate traffic and contend for top positions, which was underscored by a fourth-place finish in stage two last week. The Floridian also tallied a career-best sixth-place result last fall at Talladega Superspeedway.
MHR Success… MHR is no stranger to victory lane at AMS with Christian Eckes winning the 2023 event for the organization’s first NCTS victory. Dye is looking to become the third MHR driver to tally a top-10 finish in Atlanta on Saturday afternoon, along with teammates Tyler Ankrum and Jack Wood. MHR has three top-10 finishes in six total starts at AMS, courtesy of Eckes and Derek Kraus.
Tune In… Coverage from AMS begins Friday afternoon on FOX Sports 1 with pole qualifying at 3:00 p.m. ET. FS1’s coverage on Saturday begins at 1:00 p.m. ET with NASCAR Raceday followed by the green flag at 2:00 p.m. ET. Daniel Dye Quote:
On Moving On From DIS:
“It was a shame to not get the finish I felt like we deserved at Daytona, but we have another great chance in front of us this weekend at Atlanta. The guys on our Champion Container team brought a really fast Chevrolet Silverado RST last week and i know they’ve put a lot of effort into our Atlanta truck too. It was great to see the speed all four MHR trucks had last week and I can’t wait to get in the draft on Saturday and see what we have. We’ll definitely try to work with our teammates as much as possible and hopefully position ourselves towards the front in the final stage.”
