Looking for a Breakthrough … Daniel Dye heads back to Talladega Superspeedway looking for his first breakthrough NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series (NCTS) victory. The driver of the No. 43 NAPA Nightvision Chevrolet Silverado RST is tied for ninth in the championship standings and returns to the site of his first-career top-10 finish in NCTS competition. The Daytona Beach, Fla. driver looks to build on his strong ‘Dega debut from a season ago to unlock the gate to victory lane on Friday afternoon.
Journey to the Playoffs … Dye’s pursuit into the playoffs this season showed that the second-year was on a mission. At Charlotte Motor Speedway in May, Dye was in the 13th position in the NCTS standings 34 markers off from being in a provisional playoff spot. He hit a switch and proceeded to grab four spots for the next four races. His biggest points race was his runner-up finish at Nashville Superspeedway scoring 48-markers. Dye was able to gain a provisional playoff spot after making history at Richmond Raceway. In his first playoff event, the No. 43 team led by crew chief Blake Bainbridge was able to have a solid performance earning 38-points to push them into the playoff bubble.
What’s Next… Dye has been no stranger to showing his ability to improve from his rookie campaign. With posting career best finishes at 11 of the 16 tracks this season, Dye will look to add Talladega to that list. In his rookie season last year, Dye recorded his career-best finish at the time with a sixth-place result. Through 19 of 23 races this season, he has recorded one pole, one top-five, and seven top-10 results.

Daniel Dye Quote:
On his expectations for the rest of the season:
“I’m excited to get back to Talladega. I got my first top-10 in the truck series there last year, so hopefully we can have another good run on Friday. Superspeedway racing is a lot of fun to me, and now the pressure of the playoffs is off, so I’m going to be really aggressive all day.”
