New Style… Daniel Dye returns to World Wide Technology Raceway (WWTR) for the second time in his NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series (NCTS) career this weekend. Dye is coming off a 19th-place result at Charlotte Motor Speedway and now sits in 13th for the NCTS points standings. The 20-year-old driver looks to reduce a 30-point margin to the cut line on Saturday afternoon. Dye’s previous appearance at “Gateway” last season saw him finish in the 11th position. This weekend he will be sporting a new scheme with the No. 43 Hamlin & Associates Chevrolet Silverado RST.
The Tight Battle… Dye has been a consistent playoff contender and has been positioned as high as 10th in the championship standings this year. At this point in Dye’s 2023 rookie campaign, he had a total of 207 points and sat in 19th-place in the standings. This season he has been a constantly on the cusp on the cut line and now only sits 30 markers back from that spot. In three events this season Dye has earned at least 30-points, with his best coming from Texas Motor Speedway where he earned 39. Dye has accumulated 22 stage points this season which has played a factor in him staying close to the 10th position in the standings.
Season To Date … Dye began the season hot with qualifying no worse than 10th position in the first four events of the season. In the 11 events this year, he has qualified in the top-10 seven times, which surpasses his season total from 2023 of three. Dye is his rookie season scored only one top-10 finish, and he has already far exceeded that mark just shy of halfway in 2024. With five races left in the regular season, Dye has four top-10’s with two of those coming from a back-to-back at Texas Motor Speedway and Kansas Speedway.
Tune In … Dye will take to the track on Friday afternoon at 6:00 p.m. ET on FOX Sports 1. Raceday coverage switches to FOX at 1:00 p.m. ET with NASCAR Raceday followed by the green flag at 1:30 p.m. ET. Daniel Dye Quote:
On The Chase to The Cut Line:
“I feel that I have become a lot more confident throughout this season. We have a couple more races remaining in the regular season, and we still sit in a spot where we can get into the playoffs. This No. 43 team has been fantastic for me and we all know what it will take for us to make the top-10. We are prepared for these final couple of races and ready to grab that final spot for the playoffs.”
