Dye spent the second stage fighting forward trying to position himself in the lucky dog position. After getting spun again in the esses later in the stage, Dye kept his head down and focused on the big picture of salvaging as many points as possible. In the third stage, Dye was able to take advantage of other trucks who sustained damage to gain positions and advanced five positions to record a 28th-place finish.
Daniel Dye Quote:
“We went four laps down after another truck crossed our nose. It caused us to have race ending damage and had to fix the sway bar after a flat right front. We had speed in our NAPA Nightvision Chevy for what we had to deal with today. I think we had some good pace in our truck this weekend, but I’m proud of these guys’ effort for making repairs and salvaging some points today.”
