Repeating History … Christian Eckes returns to Darlington Raceway looking to repeat history at one of NASCAR’s most storied venues. The driver of the No. 91 Adaptive One Calipers Chevrolet Silverado RST looks to return to Darlington Raceway’s victory lane and continue MHR’s string of success in the Triple Truck Challenge events. An extra $50,000 bonus awaits the winner on Friday evening, a prize that MHR has claimed in three of the last four Triple Truck Challenge showdowns. Eckes earned the bonus at Nashville in 2024 with Adaptive One Calipers on board and looks to replicate the same result at “The Lady in Black”.
Determined at Darlington … The hallowed 1.366-mile oval has been one of the most fruitful tracks in Eckes’ young career. Despite having only five combined starts between the NCTS and NASCAR Xfinity Series, the New York state native has been exceptional, highlighted by his victory with MHR in May 2023. In four previous NCTS races at the track “Too Tough to Tame”, Eckes has tallied three top-five results and 99 laps led. His lone start in last year’s NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Darlington netted a stout seventh-place effort. He looks to continue MHR’s success at Darlington Raceway and notch the company’s fourth-consecutive race at “The Lady in Black” with a top-five result.
Season to Date … Through three races, Eckes sits ninth in the NCTS drivers’ championship standings. A podium result and 46-point effort at Daytona International Speedway started his season on the right foot. After suffering a DNF at EchoPark Speedway, Eckes gained one position in the standings at St. Petersburg, Fla. by rebounding from an early incident to finish 15th.
Tune In … Action from Darlington Raceway gets underway at 3:30 p.m. ET Friday afternoon on FOX Sports 2 with practice and qualifying. Coverage moves to FOX Sports 1 for the green flag at 7:30 p.m. ET. Christian Eckes Quote:
On returning to Darlington as a former winner:
“We have some good memories from Darlington and have had a good track record there. That gives you confidence, but we need to execute a clean night to put our Adaptive One Calipers Chevy in contention. We’ve had to go through some adversity in these last couple of races. Hopefully we can shake that this weekend, unload with speed and be able to race at the front all night. These points are really important at the beginning of the year, and this group has been working super hard over the off weeks to be prepared for Darlington.”
