| On the Cusp … Daniel Hemric is on the cusp of clinching a spot in the Chase as the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Trucks Series (NCTS) regular season concludes at New Hampshire Motor Speedway (NHMS). The driver of the No. 19 Delphi Chevrolet Silverado RST is set to make his fourth NCTS appearance at “The Magic Mile” and is one step away from another opportunity at a championship. Hemric returns to NHMS with a 35-point buffer on the provisional cut line and can advance to the Chase by scoring 40 points on Saturday, regardless of what any other driver does. Generating Momentum … Hemric rekindled momentum for the No. 19 Delphi team last weekend at Richmond Raceway by scoring 30 points and a 10th-place finish. Dating back to his season high runner-up finish at Coronado Naval Base in June, Hemric has three top-10 finishes in the last five races. The speed in the No. 19 from last week in the Virginia Commonwealth can be transferred to NHMS’ flat, sweeping turns as he aims to record a similar result in the Granite State. Hemric has scored one top-10 in three previous NCTS appearances at NHMS and has two top-five results in five NASCAR Xfinity Series starts. Last season, Hemric rebounded after being involved in an early incident to score a resilient 12th-place finish. Season to Date … With 17 of the 18 regular season races complete, Hemric sits ninth in the NCTS championship standings, 35 markers above the provisional cut line. He gained 21 points versus the cut line last Saturday afternoon in Richmond, Va. and has two top-five’s and seven top-10 results to his credit this season. Tune In … The New Hampshire race weekend gets underway on Friday afternoon at 4:00 p.m. ET with practice and qualifying. Coverage begins on Saturday afternoon for the green flag at 1:30 p.m. ET on FOX Sports 1. Daniel Hemric Quote: On racing to clinch a spot in the Chase: “We had a strong weekend at Richmond to give ourselves a nice cushion. It certainly isn’t safe and we need to execute with our Delphi Chevrolet and bring the same pace we had last week. It felt really good to have the outright speed and balance that had and hopefully that’s something we can replicate when we unload in New Hampshire. It’s a tough place to complete passes and it can turn into a track position game really quick. We have the tools and the people to lock ourselves in on Saturday, and if we can keep building on that speed from Richmond, I think we can make some noise in the last seven races.” |
