Leading the Bowties … Daniel Hemric is carrying the banner for Chevrolet as the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series (NCTS) returns to the Motor City this weekend at Michigan International Speedway (MIS). The driver of the No. 19 NAPA Auto Care Chevrolet Silverado RST has used his experience to climb to second in the championship standings and hopes to be the first bowtie driver to capture multiple victories this season. Hemric has solidified his position in the NCTS playoffs with a victory at Martinsville Speedway in March and is seeking his first win in the Irish Hills in his eighth national series start at the fastest track on the circuit.

Seal the Deal … Hemric has come close to victory at MIS on two occasions and looks to seal the deal on Saturday afternoon. During his first NCTS stint, Hemric led laps and finished third at MIS in 2016 and came home runner-up in the NASCAR Xfinity Series’ visit to Michigan in 2018. He has a pair of top-10 results at MIS in two NCTS starts and is currently on a career-high streak of six straight top-10 results. His stretch of consecutive top-10 runs includes four top-five finishes and a runner-up effort at Texas Motor Speedway. Most recently, Hemric racked up 43 points at Nashville Superspeedway last Friday night with a fourth-place effort.

Season to Date … The dash to the playoffs is in full swing as 12 of the 18 regular season races are complete. Hemric is second in the drivers’ point standings courtesy of his top-five finish at Nashville a week ago. He has accrued six top-five’s and nine top-10 finishes with the second-best average finish in the series, 7.2.

Tune In … On-track action at MIS begins with Friday’s practice at 1:00 p.m. ET. Broadcast coverage starts Saturday morning at 8:00 a.m. ET with pole qualifying on FOX Sports 1 followed by the green flag on FOX at 12:00 p.m. Stay connected with the No. 19 NAPA Auto Care team by following @BMR_NASCAR on Twitter, @bmrnascar on Instagram, and Bill McAnally Racing on Facebook.

Daniel Hemric Quote:

On racing at MIS:

“Michigan is probably the fastest place that we go all year. The straightaways are super long with a lot of speed. It’s like racing in the draft at a superspeedway, but you have to have enough aero and mechanical grip in the truck also. It demands a good balance between outright speed, being trimmed out along with enough downforce to have a good handling truck. Hopefully we can strike the right balance with our NAPA Auto Care Chevrolet on Saturday. Having some friends and drafting help on the restart makes a big difference too, so hopefully we can put a few of our MHR trucks up front and get one of us to victory lane this weekend in Chevrolet’s backyard.”
