Hemric Seeking to Solidify Chase Position in RVA

Cut to the Chase … Friday night’s showdown at Richmond Raceway will play a pivotal role in determining the Chase field for the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Trucks Series (NCTS) and Daniel Hemric is looking to secure a coveted position. The driver of the No. 19 NAPA Auto Care Chevrolet Silverado RST enters the Virginia Commonwealth with a 14-point buffer over the provisional cut line, ninth in the standings. As a former short track victor, Hemric has the experience to duplicate another winning performance and solidify his ticket into the Chase.
Right at Home at Short Tracks … Over the last 41 races behind the wheel of the No. 19 Chevrolet, Hemric has felt right at home on the short tracks. Since joining MHR last season, he has captured a grandfather clock after winning at Martinsville Speedway last spring, plus three top-five’s and four top-10 results on short tracks. Richmond’s abrasive three-quarter mile layout has produced impressive results for MHR over the years, including in 2024 when the organization placed all four entries in the top-10 for the first time in the team’s history. Hemric also made his NASCAR Cup Series debut at Richmond in 2018 and has earned one pole award, three top-five’s, and five top-10 results in the NASCAR Xfinity Series at the Virginia venue.
Season to Date … After 16 of 18 regular season races, Hemric sits ninth in the NCTS drivers standings, 14 points above the provisional cut line with two events remaining before the Chase. Hemric has tallied one stage win at Watkins Glen International, along with two top-five’s and six top-10 results thus far.

“There’s an added importance on short tracks this year with the way the schedule lays out, having four short and flat tracks before the Chase. The No. 91 team has had really good speed the last couple of weeks, and our No. 19 team has worked hard to get that speed in our NAPA Auto Care Chevy for this weekend. Tire management is always key at Richmond and that’s an area where we can excel this weekend. We need to put together a smooth night and put ourselves in position to score some stage points to build a little cushion. We have all the tools to do it and we’re excited for the chance to execute this week.”
