Seeking a Centennial “Celly” … Daniel Hemric and the No. 19 team roll into Texas Motor Speedway (TMS) to celebrate NAPA’s 100th anniversary weekend. Hemric’s Chevrolet at “No Limits, Texas” features a custom gold and blue color scheme to commemorate the brand’s official 100th anniversary on Sunday, May 4th. Friday’s showdown at TMS kicks off a six-week stretch for NCTS competitors as Hemric brings momentum from a third-place finish at Rockingham Speedway two weeks ago, where all four MHR trucks finished inside the top-10.
Momentum Rising … Hemric and crew chief Josh Graham are building a palpable wave of momentum after racking up two podium finishes in the last three races. The duo scored their first NCTS victory at Martinsville Speedway and a podium result at Rockingham. Dating back to Homestead-Miami Speedway on March 21st, Hemric has delivered three top-five results in the last four races and looks continue MHR’s superb efforts at TMS. The organization placed three trucks in the top-six at TMS last spring, and Hemric hopes to pad his playoff point total on Friday night with a second trip to victory lane.
Points Report … Through seven of the 18 regular season events prior to the playoffs, Hemric has pitched a strong start to his NCTS return. One victory, three top-five’s and four top-10 finishes have positioned him fourth in the championship standings, along with an average finish of 8.3. He has led in three-consecutive races entering Friday’s event at TMS and has led in five of the seven races thus far. A gap of 73 markers stands between Hemric and the current points lead but has all but guaranteed his playoff berth with the Martinsville victory.
Tune In … Hemric hits the track on Friday afternoon with the NAPA 100th anniversary paint scheme at 2:30 p.m. ET for practice and qualifying. Race coverage begins on FOX Sports 1 at 8:00 p.m. ET. Daniel Hemric Quote:
On racing at Texas on a recent hot streak:
“Our NAPA Auto Care team has been putting together some solid finishes recently in the last few weeks. We’ve done a good job of maximizing our days and being efficient. The pit stops have been outstanding, good strategy calls, and that’s made for some good results. We’re always looking for more speed, so hopefully we can have that this week at Texas. We’d love to put that beautiful gold paint scheme up front and finish it off in victory lane for NAPA’s 100th anniversary. It’s a big weekend for everyone at NAPA to have the Cup car, sprint car, and our truck all decked out for the 100th anniversary, so we want to give everyone a result to remember.
