Hometown Showdown … While Charlotte Motor Speedway’s (CMS) Memorial Day weekend is an adopted “home game” for most drivers and team members, Daniel Hemric gets to race less than 15 miles from his hometown of Kannapolis, N.C. One of his biggest moments of his racing career occurred at CMS in 2010 when he won the “Legends Million” race and changed the trajectory of his career. The driver of the No. 19 Cloyes, Rotomaster Chevrolet Silverado RST looks to rejuvenate that home track magic and fight his way back inside the Chase grid with his first victory of 2026 at CMS.

Grinding Away … Hemric had consistently been climbing the standings over the first eight races until suffering a fuel pressure issue last week at Dover Motor Speedway. He enters CMS 12th in the standings, looking to parlay his prior success in the “Queen City” to rebound and resume his ascent in the point standings. The Kannapolis, N.C. native has finished seventh or better in two of the last three races and recorded an eighth-place finish on the 1.5-mile oval last May in his first CMS appearance with MHR. Hemric has notched a pair of top-10 NCTS results in four previous starts in Charlotte, and has a runner-up finish in the NASCAR Xfinity Series along with four top-10 results to his credit.

Season to Date … The NCTS tour has reached the halfway mark of the regular season and Hemric sits 12th in the standings after nine events. He delivered a season high fourth-place finish at Watkins Glen International two weeks ago and his first stage win of the season. Hemric has collected one top-five and four top-10’s thus far and is just 10 markers behind the provision Chase cut line.

Tune In … On-track activity begins at 3:30 p.m. ET Friday afternoon with practice and qualifying on FOX Sports 2, followed by race coverage switching to FOX Sports 1 at 7:30 p.m. ET. Daniel Hemric Quote:

On his outlook for Charlotte:

“Memorial Day weekend is always special and gives you extra appreciation for what we get to do each weekend. Racing at home makes it even better to have your family and friends close by. That’s a nice change of pace for us. Hopefully we can make it a special night with a good run with our Cloyes, Rotomaster Chevrolet. We’ve had a productive week, evaluating our package and analyzing where we can improve our trucks. If we can see a benefit of that in practice and transfer into the race Friday night, that’d be a big positive. We were decent last year at Charlotte, ran in the top-10 and just need to find a little more improvement to be one of the trucks to beat this time around.”
