Mosack Gains Ground in Standings in Miami

NCTS Point Standings Position: 22nd
Connor Mosack took a step in the right direction on Friday night at Homestead-Miami Speedway (HMS) with a 19th-place finish. The driver of the No. 81 Friends of Jaclyn Foundation Chevrolet Silverado RST ran inside the top-15 for the majority of the night and was a threat for a top-10 result. The evening netted Mosack two positions in the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series standings and sits 22nd through four races.
Mosack qualified 19th on Friday afternoon and had to immediately take evasive action in Turn 1 on lap one of the race to avoid a multi-truck incident. After narrowly escaping, Mosack restarted 21st and methodically worked his way forward. A tight handling condition in the center of both corners at HMS limited his progress as he ran 19th at the end of Stage 1 on lap 30.
Crew chief Blake Bainbridge gave Mosack fresh tires, fuel and adjustments to help his balance during the team’s first pit stop under the stage caution. Stage 2 featured Mosack rocketing from 23rd on the lap 38 restart to 12th in just 10 laps. He would maintain that position until the stage checkered waved at lap 60.
The second pit stop of the night came under yellow as Mosack received another set of fresh tires and a chassis adjustment to chip away at the tight balance. Mosack restarted 15th on lap 69 and instantly climbed to 11th in two laps. He ran there until the final caution flew on lap 90 which set up the final pit stop of the night. Mosack restarted 13th on lap 96 but dealt with a tightening balance over the race’s longest green flag run to close the night. As a result, Mosack took the checkered flag in 19th position in his second HMS start.
Connor Mosack Quote:
“We got our Friends of Jaclyn Foundation Chevy pretty good in the second stage. We drove all the way to 12th and felt like we made a great improvement on the truck. But we were just too tight in the center for the rest of the night. I appreciate the effort this team put in to keep making adjustments and working on getting to where we needed to be. We’ll go back to work this week and hopefully have a better result at Martinsville next Friday.”
