Fire Bet … The first “traditional” race of the season for the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series (NCTS) at Las Vegas Motor Speedway (LVMS) on Friday night would be a great time to place a “fire bet” on Connor Mosack. While Mosack only has 13 races of experience under his belt, the driver of the No. 81 NAPA Nightvision Chevrolet Silverado RST could be a great wager on Friday night. Mosack has knowledge from one prior NCTS start in “Sin City” last season and has proven his mettle on 1.5-mile tracks. The North Carolinian earned his best finish of third at Homestead-Miami Speedway and qualified on the front row at Kansas Speedway. His previous runs have him on the brink of a breakthrough effort at LVMS on Friday night.
Getting Warmed Up … Mosack is just getting warmed up entering round three in Las Vegas. The 26-year-old most recently checked off some career “firsts” by earning his first-career pole award at Atlanta Motor Speedway (AMS) and led his first laps in NCTS. He dominated the first stage at AMS to lead 30 laps and served notice that he, crew chief Blake Bainbridge, and the No. 81 team will pose a threat this season. Mosack hopes to continue showcasing himself as a new player at the front of the field on Friday night as he chases his first top-five result of the season.
Vegas History … LVMS is one of several venues where Mosack has experience. He has one prior start in both the NCTS and NASCAR Xfinity Series, with finishes of 19th in each series. His resume include a pair of victories at Kansas Speedway in the ARCA Menards Series, a similarly progressive-banked 1.5-mile track. He currently sits 25th in the standings after two races on drafting tracks.
Tune In … On-track action from LVMS begins Friday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. ET on FOX Sports 1 with practice and qualifying. Coverage continues with the green flag on FOX Sports 1 at 9:00 p.m. ET. on Stay connected with the No. 81 NAPA Nightvision team by following @BMR_NASCAR on Twitter, @bmrnascar on Instagram, and Bill McAnally Racing on Facebook.
Connor Mosack Quote:
On making his third appearance at LVMS:
“I’m really proud of our NAPA Nightvision team so far, even though we may not have the results to show yet. Our Silverado RST’s have been really fast, and we had a ton of speed at Atlanta. I think Las Vegas will be a great chance for us to set a foundation now that we have the drafting races behind us. This weekend starts the meat of the season, and it feels good coming back to a place I’m familiar with. It’s a super-fast track and gives us drivers a lot of options to move around. Qualifying will be important, as always, and all of my MHR teammates have had speed too, so I can’t wait to get on track Friday.”
