Connor Mosack was a fixture at the front of the field throughout the inaugural NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Trucks Series (NCTS) race at Lime Rock Park on Saturday afternoon and gained one position to 15th in the championship standings. Mosack ended the afternoon with a 16th-place finish but tallied points in fifth and fourth in each stage during the afternoon.

Mosack began the afternoon from the eighth position after a strong qualifying effort Saturday morning. He asserted himself as one of the strongest trucks in the field during the opening 35-lap segment. Mosack advanced from eighth and climbed to fifth by lap 34 and banked six points at the end of Stage 1 on lap 35.

Crew chief Blake Bainbridge and the Friends of Jaclyn Foundation team made minor adjustments to fine tune Mosack’s balance, and he put it to good use in the second segment. He claimed the fourth position on the restart and held the position for the balance of Stage 2, earning seven addition points at lap 70.

After bolting on another set of fresh tires with minute adjustments during the second controlled pit stop, Mosack took the third position on the lap 77 restart. He comfortably ran third until the race’s final caution on lap 89. Chaos ensued on the following restart with five laps to go as Mosack was hit from behind as the field clustered together entering Turn 1. Mosack regained his footing but suffered significant contact from the No. 1 truck in Turn 3 and was run off course. Despite severe damage to the nose, Mosack stayed on track and took the checkered flag in 16th position.

Connor Mosack Quote:

“I was happy with the day overall. We obviously need a little bit of speed to be as good as the No. 11 and 34. I feel like we were the best of the rest. That last caution at the end, I figured we’d either have a shot at winning if anything happened with how these races are at the end, or what happened was going to happen. Definitely needed a top-three day, would have been great for us, especially with the last two weeks with good runs and build that momentum. I feel like we’ve had that speed all year, just now finally getting to show it, which is nice. Obviously still hoping for some results to fight our way into the playoffs with three races to go.”
