Mosack Suffers Electrical Woes at Bristol

FINISH: 24th
Start: 25th

NCTS Point Standings Position: 20th
Connor Mosack’s third NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series (NCTS) start at Bristol Motor Speedway (BMS) concluded with a 24th-place finish on Friday night. The driver of the No. 81 Friends of Jaclyn Foundation Chevrolet Silverado RST battled electrical issues in the second half of the event and was forced to change a battery under the green flag. Mosack finished the event and is 20th in the NCTS point standings after six races.
Mosack took the green flag from 25th position after practice and qualifying was washed out by steady afternoon showers. The No. 81 squad was hit with instant adversity as a loose handling condition resulted in Mosack spinning to bring out the race’s first yellow on lap 17. Although he avoided contact, Mosack lost a lap to the leaders and finished Stage 1 in 24th.
While running 23rd, a fortunate caution flag on lap 79 awarded Mosack the “Lucky Dog” and allowed him to rejoin the lead lap. However, Mosack’s handling condition swung tight during Stage 2 and fell off the lead lap on lap 122. The second stage caution allowed him to take the “wave around” to regain his lap and was able to pit for tires during a caution at lap 160. Shortly after restarting in 17th and gaining positions, Mosack was forced to pit road on lap 184 under green to change a battery after he rapidly lost voltage.
Mosack returned to the track 16 laps down after the repairs and took the checkered flag in 24th position.
Connor Mosack Quote:
“Just a tough night for our Friends of Jaclyn Foundation team. We started losing a little voltage after halfway and it lost power. Its unfortunate to have another week go this way, but we fought back from being a lap down and were making a run into the top-15. We’ll outrun this luck, just need to keep our heads up and look forward to Rockingham next week.”
