NCTS Point Standings Position: 24th

Connor Mosack’s second-career start at Las Vegas Motor Speedway resulted in a 20th-place finish on Friday night. The driver of the No. 81 NAPA Nightvision Chevrolet Silverado RST gained one position to 24th the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series (NCTS) point standings after three events.

Mosack qualified 10th on Friday afternoon, second among the quartet of MHR drivers. The North Carolinian contested a loose condition, similar to his teammates in the opening stint and ran 20th at the end of Stage 1 on lap 30. After a four-tire pit stop and a brief red flag period for rain, Mosack restarted in 20th on lap 38and took advantage of an improved balance to advance as high as 12th during the second segment. As his loose condition resurfaced, he was scored in 16th position at the end of Stage 2 at lap 60.

An efficient pit stop by the NAPA Nightvision team under the second stage caution netted Mosack four positions for the ensuing restart on lap 71. He ran as high as ninth but suffered a punctured tire after being put four wide on the frontstretch. A fortuitous caution on lap 84 mitigated the setback and allowed Mosack to pit for a new left rear tire under the yellow flag. He restarted 26th on lap 101 following repair work, but some damage from the previous contact still lingered. He was able gain six points over the final 34 laps and cross under the checkered flag in 20th position.

Connor Mosack Quote: “These finishes haven’t been what we wanted to start the year, but we’re not going to be frustrated. Our Chevrolets have been fast, and we’ve had speed at all three races. We’ll build some momentum during this three-week stretch and I’m really looking forward to taking this speed from today to Homestead next weekend. We’ll keep working through the week and hopefully put a full race together next weekend.”
