Jack Wood, driver of the No. 91 Motion Industries/Gates Hydraulics Chevrolet Silverado RST battled hard at Kansas Speedway in the ninth race of the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series (NCTS) 2025 season to ultimately end up with a 24-place finish. A stack up on the opening lap of the Heart of Health Care 200 left the front of the field beating and banging but Wood avoided the chaos and kept the No. 91 race truck free from any damage. An early yellow flag fell which allowed the young driver time to reset and take notes from spotter Tyler Monn. Wood started to find the line that worked and carried himself through for an 18th-place Stage One finish. Crew chief Kevin Bellicourt made the call to stay out to restart Stage Two 18th.
A green-flag-shuffle on the restart saw Wood fall back a few spots but by lap 48, the Loomis, Calif native had found his line and continued on his charge to the front. Shortly after, a lap-50 caution arose and interrupted the No. 91’s speed, yet again. Kevin (Bellicourt, crew chief) brought the young driver down pit road the second time by for fuel only and a trackbar adjustment. This stop set Wood a few spots back to restart the final laps of Stage Two 26th, that led him to a 24th-place Stage Two finish. The 24-year-old driver came down pit road under the stage break for four tires and fuel and rolled out 21st to restart the final laps at Kansas.
Breaking into the top 20 on the opening lap, Wood settled in line quickly and felt really confident in his race truck. Green-flag pit stops started to arise and with 41 laps to go, the young driver cruised down pit road under green flag for his last set of Goodyear tires and some Sunoco race fuel. Once the pit cycle fanned out, Wood landed in the 28th position at two laps down until a lap-110 caution flag flew. For the closing laps, Wood stayed glued to the back of the pack and tried to avoid any late-race incidents to bring home a clean No. 91 Motion Industries/Gates Hydraulics Chevrolet. He did just that and brought home a 24th-place finish in America’s Heartland that still allows him to hold onto the 16th position in the NCTS point standings.
Jack Wood Quote:
“Tonight was just not our night. This No. 91 Motion Industries/Gates Hydraulics Chevrolet was really fast I just could not find a line that helped me find my way up to the front. I hate it for this team after such a good stretch we were on there but I know we can rebound quick and get this momentum turned around and ready for North Wilkesboro next week.”
