Indy History … Jack Wood, driver of the No. 91 Adaptive One Calipers Chevrolet Silverado RST is coming off the three-week break and headed up to the Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park (IRP) for the 200-lap NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series (NCTS) event Friday night. The full-season rookie with McAnally Hilgemann Racing (MHR) has only three previous starts at the 0.686-mile short track oval with a best of 15th coming behind the wheel of the No. 91 last season in 2024. Wood and the team are looking to improve on that finish in hopes to stay in contention for a top-five finish at IRP.
Back to Short Tracks … Although the NCTS had a long break in between races, that did not stop the young driver from hopping behind the wheel. Wood is coming off a thrilling yet heartbreaking run at Sonoma Raceway last weekend in the ARCA Menards West Series. The Loomis, Calif. native held strong in the top five for the majority of the road course run until a final-lap chaotic scene forced Wood off course and relegated him to a 13th-place finish. The 24-year-old is ready to take it back to the NCTS and back to a short track to fight for a spot in the NCTS playoffs.
Tune In … Television coverage on the TSport 200 will begin Friday afternoon with practice and qualifying starting at 3:05 p.m. ET on FOX Sports 2 followed by the green flag at 8:00 p.m. ET on FOX Sports 1. Jack Wood Quote:
“The break was much needed and running the ARCA race out in Sonoma was a blast and I was happy to be able to keep myself behind the wheel in some way during the break. It’s time to regain focus and lose this off streak we have had of chaos. This No. 91 team has worked so hard over the last couple weeks to give us a solid short track package and I am excited to unload on Friday and see what we can do out in Indy.”
