Wright Drives Through Tight Truck at IRP

| Kris Wright finished 30th in Friday night’s TSport 200 at Indianapolis Raceway Park (IRP) after starting 27th. Wright showed speed early in the weekend with a 14th-place effort in practice. The Pittsburgh, Pa. native started 27th before slipping through the field during the opening stage. He went one lap down on Lap 26 and finished Stage 1 in 35th, two laps behind the leaders. Darren Fraley (crew chief) made adjustments during the stage breaks as Wright continued to work through handling changes. Wright improved to 33rd at the conclusion of Stage 2 and restarted 33rd for the final 80 laps. Following a caution on lap 137 and a red flag on lap 140, Wright moved up to 30th on the lap 145 restart. While running 30th late in the race, Wright was collected in an incident involving trucks battling inside the top 10, but continued to the finish to secure a 30th-place result. Wright noted the truck’s fire-off speed improved during the final stage, allowing him to make steady progress over the closing laps.
