All Comes Down to This … Friday night marks the regular season crescendo for the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Trucks Series (NCTS) and Connor Mosack is in a must-win scenario at Richmond Raceway. The driver of the No. 81 Friends of Jaclyn Foundation Chevrolet sits 15th in the series standings and requires a trip to victory lane in RVA to earn a playoff berth in his rookie season. Mosack has been familiar with the front of the field, leading laps at Atlanta Motor Speedway and recently at Michigan International Speedway (MIS). He will make his first NCTS start at the Commonwealth’s three-quarter mile short track on Friday evening.
Recapture Past Success … A year ago at Richmond, MHR reached a milestone as it marked the first race that all four entries finished inside the top-10. Crew chief Blake Bainbridge engineered a last-minute entry in the playoffs when he guided Daniel Dye to an eighth-place finish and pointed their way into the playoff field. The veteran crew chief hopes to recapture that magic at Richmond and construct an effort worthy to direct Mosack to his first-career NCTS victory.
Season to Date … Through 17 of 18 regular season events, Mosack is 15th in the drivers’ point standings with two top-10 results. His season-best result came four races ago at Pocono Raceway where he finished sixth and scored his first-career pole award at Atlanta Motor Speedway. Mosack been a fixture near the front of the field lately by scoring points in nine of the last 10 stages, dating back to MIS in June.
Tune In … Action from Richmond gets underway at 2:00 p.m. ET on FOX Sports 2 with practice and qualifying followed by the green flag at 7:30 p.m. ET on FOX Sports 1. Connor Mosack Quote:
On his outlook for the regular season finale:
“We’ve been bringing really good Chevrolets to the racetrack, and this week shouldn’t be any different. I have a lot of confidence in Blake and this team. It’s simple what we need to do on Friday. Hopefully we can unload another fast Friends of Jaclyn Foundation Chevrolet in practice and be one of the five or six fastest trucks to put ourselves in position on Friday night. 250 laps is a longer race than usual for us, so there will be quite a few pit stops and we’ll have to manage our sets of tires well in the final segment. Hopefully we can have the speed, strategy, execution, all those things, to get the job done.”
