Wright Hoping to Harvest Success in Concord

Concord Countdown… Kris Wright and the No. 81 F.N.B. Corporation team head down the road to Charlotte Motor Speedway (CMS) for Friday night’s North Carolina Education Lottery 200. The event marks the 10th race of the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series (NCTS) season, with Wright entering the weekend 21st in points after recording four top-20 finishes and coming off his best result of the year at Dover Motor Speedway. With CMS’ fall event shifting back to the oval this season, Friday night presents an important opportunity for Wright and the No. 81 team to continue building their notebook ahead of the NCTS Chase race.

Season’s Best… The No. 81 F.N.B. Corporation team enters Charlotte with momentum following an impressive outing at Dover Motor Speedway. Crew chief Darren Fraley made a key strategy call to bring Wright to pit road for fuel under what proved to be the race’s final caution as much of the field faced concerns about making it to the finish. Wright capitalized in the closing laps, advancing to a season-best 17th-place finish as multiple trucks were forced to pit for fuel. The result marked a strong rebound for the Pittsburgh, Pa. native after falling a lap down on two separate occasions during the race, and Wright now looks to build on that team effort Friday night in Concord.

Charlotte Experience… Friday night will mark Wright’s fourth start on the oval at Charlotte Motor Speedway between the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series (NCTS) and the NASCAR Xfinity Series (NXS). In his lone NXS start at the 1.5-mile facility, Wright recorded an 18th-place finish, while the Pittsburgh, Pa. native owns 30 NCTS starts on intermediate tracks, including a 19th-place result at Charlotte in 2022. McAnally-Hilgemann Racing (MHR) also showed speed at Charlotte last season with teammate Daniel Hemric earning an eighth-place finish and Tyler Ankrum advancing 11 positions from his starting spot. Wright and the No. 81 F.N.B. Corporation team will look to capitalize on that momentum Friday night and bring home a solid result at Charlotte.

Kris Wright Quote:
“Racing at Charlotte is always super special, and it’s nice to have a weekend close to home in the middle of a long stretch of races. We took a step forward at Dover, and now the goal is to carry that momentum into this weekend and keep building with our F.N.B. Corporation team.”
