Striking the Right Chords … Christian Eckes has been striking the right chords as he returns to Music City’s Nashville Superspeedway (NSS). The driver of the No. 91 Adaptive One Calipers Chevrolet Silverado RST has elevated his performance in recent weeks to vault himself into the top three of the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Trucks Series (NCTS) standings. The former NSS winner laid down one of the most dominant performances in recent history at the 1.33-mile speedway in 2024 when he delivered a clean sweep of the event. Eckes won the pole, captured both stages, led all 150 laps, and earned the victory in a one-two MHR finish in his most recent NSS appearance with the organization. Fresh off a stage win and sixth-place finish at Charlotte Motor Speedway (CMS), Eckes hopes to add a second Gibson Les Paul trophy to his collection on Friday night.
Becoming a Threat … Eckes has regained much of his familiar form that fans and competitors have been accustomed to in recent weeks. The Middletown, N.Y. native has been a consistent threat in recent weeks by scoring four top-eight finishes in the last five races. On Sunday morning, Eckes delivered his biggest points day of the season, scoring 51 markers, which netted him three positions in the standings and into the thick of the championship conversation. His ultra-aggressive style has shown up in race results, and on the stat sheets with a series high +190 pass differential. The last box to check for Eckes and the No. 91 team is a checkered flag; a feat they’re more than capable of accomplishing at NSS.
Season to Date … With 10 races complete, Eckes sits third in the NCTS drivers’ point standings and closed to within 71 points of the lead. He has collected three top-five’s and six top-10 finishes with 173 laps led, most among full-time NCTS competitors. Eckes has also recorded three stage victories, tied for the most on tour and an average finish of 11.2, second-best among full-time drivers.
Tune In … On-track activity begins at 4:00 p.m. ET with practice and qualifying on FOX Sports 2. The green flag drops at 8:00 p.m. ET on FOX Sports 1. Christian Eckes Quote:
On returning to Charlotte:
“We’ve done a good job at improving each week here recently but certainly have more room to grow. Really proud of [crew chief] Dave Elenz and all the guys on this No. 91 team. We had a lot of speed last week at Charlotte and feel confident we can continue that at Nashville with our Adaptive One Chevrolet. It’s been a good track for us in the past, obviously, winning in ’24. We’d like to make it happen again, but we need to qualify well and have a clean night to have a shot. Nashville is a really tough place to pass too, so just need to focus on execution and staying on top of the balance throughout the night.”
