Make Up for Lost Time … Christian Eckes looks to make up for lost time on Saturday afternoon at Michigan International Speedway (MIS). The driver of the No. 91 Adaptive One Calipers Chevrolet Silverado RST narrowly missed out on his first-career victory with a runner-up in 2020 at the two-mile speed plant when he was less than a lap away from victory. Eckes returns to the Irish Hills six years later to avenge that near-miss and score MHR’s first win in the “Wolverine State”. The New Yorker has been in contention for victory in numerous events this season and has collected five top-10 results over the last six races entering MIS.
In Elite Company … As the 2026 season has progressed, Eckes has regained his patented consistent touch and racked up impressive point totals in recent weeks. He and the No. 91 team arrive at MIS on the strength of scoring 40-plus points in the last two races. Last week in Nashville, Eckes collected 43 points and banked 50 markers at Charlotte Motor Speedway the week prior. Saturday will mark his third NCTS start at MIS as he aims to take a leap forward in the second half of the 18-race regular season.
Season to Date … Through 11 of 23 races, Eckes holds the third position in the NCTS drivers’ standings. He has banked three top-five’s and seven top-10 results with two stage victories. Eckes’ average finish of 10.9 and has led 173 laps, both marks are second-best among full-time competitors. The No. 91 truck has been on the move all season, evidenced by Eckes’ series leading pass differential of +199.
Tune In … Eckes takes his turn at MIS’ high banks beginning on Saturday morning with practice and qualifying streamed on the FOX One app at 9:30 a.m. ET. Race coverage switches to FOX Sports 1 for the green flag at 1:30 p.m. ET. Christian Eckes Quote:
On making his first start at MIS since 2020:
“I definitely feel like there’s some unfinished business at Michigan from a few years ago. It’s one I’d like to have back and would like to have another chance at it on Saturday, for sure. It’s a place that demands everything out of the truck; good balance, raw speed, handling, and fuel mileage seems like it comes into play a lot there. We’ve had a good week of preparation and in the sim, and I think we should have a fast Adaptive One Calipers Chevy. Our team has done a good job executing recently, but need to get the finishes to match our speed. If we can give ourselves some track position after halfway, we can certainly get the job done this week.”
